BUILDING A BETTER YOU!
Disabled But Not Really (DBNR) has always aspired to help the vulnerable develop a limitless mindset. Such a mindset has empowered individuals to transform their lives for the better. And now it’s time for the next phase of DBNR’s own transformation.
Given the challenges of the pandemic and the inequalities faced by a number of marginalized groups across the nation, DBNR is moving in a new direction. DBNR is inspired and eager to create monumental change for a broader population. Individuals with disabilities have been and will continue to be a priority for DBNR. But DBNR is now broadening its focus to include communities of color and those with lower socioeconomic status.
DBNR is bringing the #HelpMeFit Challenge INTO the city! #HelpMeFit Mobile is a program designed for in-person impact within KC’s neighborhoods. Our talented trainers will bring our trailer-sized gym and lead adaptive workout routines that inform and inspire limitless mindsets and healthy lifestyles. And we want you all to be a part of this innovative program!
Our partner Wheel WOD, is customizing monthly programming to support #HelpMeFit Mobile’s goals. But at the end of the day, DBNR is striving to bring those with disabilities AND able-bodied individuals together, creating unity and limitless mindsets through our accessible and inspirational program. We believe in the power of community and connection. And we’re building on that foundation.
DBNR is deepening our partnership with the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department. We’re collaborating with them to identify locations to bring #HelpMeFit Mobile closer to you. And don’t worry, we’ll take extra measures to limit coronavirus exposure. Safety first!
