Amy Bream
At Equip Products, we’re passionate about empowering adaptive athletes and clinicians with tools like Leg Straps and Multi Ropes. Today, we’re shining a spotlight on our dear friend Amy Bream—a Nike athlete, 1st Phorm and Adaptive CrossFit Games star, and all-around fabulous human being—who embodies the spirit of adaptive fitness. Alongside her incredible friend Anna Bickers, Amy has not only inspired us but also supported our team with kindness and energy during the busiest moments at events. Join us in celebrating Amy’s journey, her new program for lower limb amputees, and her unbreakable bond with Equip Products.
A Star is Born at the CrossFit Games
Amy Bream first captured our hearts at the CrossFit Games, where her determination and grit shone brightly. A defining moment came in a viral clip (watch here) that showed Amy struggling with a difficult barbell lift over and over, yet in all of the tears and struggles, she did not give up. This clip earned her a lot of attention and a well-deserved Nike sponsorship.
As a lower limb loss athlete, Amy’s personality shines the most when she is competing. A beautiful person inside and out, we think every young lady who aspires to be a great competitor could learn from her. Amy's story resonates with our mission at Equip Products to provide adaptive equipment that unlocks potential.
Our friendship with Amy began at her first CrossFit Games, where we witnessed her rise to stardom. In 2021, when Amy needed a solution to keep her prosthetic foot secure on bike pedals during an event, our team sprang into action. We crafted a custom strap on the fly, ensuring she could compete confidently. The following year, in 2022, we went a step further, using a sewing kit to create a loop on her prosthetic socket for easier pull-up during a running event. These moments of collaboration highlight Amy’s trust in Equip Products and our commitment to adaptive innovation.
More Than an Athlete: Amy’s Heart of Gold
Amy is more than a fierce competitor—she’s a humble, kind, and fiercely inspiring person. Her strength is matched by her gentleness, her intensity by her warmth. At events, when Equip Products staff are swamped running booths and miss meals or their morning coffee, Amy and her friend Anna Bickers are our saving grace. With big hugs, bright smiles, and trays of coffee or food, they ensure we’re fueled to keep going. Their selflessness has forged a bond that means the world to us.
Anna, known as @bickerssnickers on Instagram, is Amy’s partner-in-crime and a ray of sunshine. Together, they create an unstoppable duo that lifts everyone around them. Whether it’s cheering on athletes or supporting vendors like us, Amy and Anna make every event unforgettable.
Empowering Others with Lower Amputees and Prosthesis Users
Amy’s journey has led her to a new mission: empowering others with lower limb loss through her program, Lower Amputees and Prosthesis Users. This initiative offers adaptive programs, classes, seminars, and resources to help amputees live fuller, more active lives. As Amy puts it, it’s about “updates on adaptive programs, upcoming classes, seminars, and more!” Her program reflects her passion for giving back, drawing on her own experiences to guide others.
