Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Troy Peterson, founder of ValorFit, to dive into their mission, their current initiatives, and an inspiring journey that’s happening right now: Matt Johnson’s Run Across Texas.

🪖 What Is ValorFit?

ValorFit is more than a gym. It’s a community and a cause. Their mission is to support veterans by helping them re-engage with fitness, build strength (physically and mentally), and access resources tailored to their unique needs. ValorFit offers gym access, fitness programming, and veteran-centered services—creating a place where those who served can return to purpose through movement.

In talking with Troy, the passion is clear: ValorFit isn’t just about lifting weights—it’s about lifting lives.

👟 Run Across Texas: Matt Johnson’s Challenge

One initiative that’s close to their hearts (and is ongoing now) is Matt Johnson’s Run Across Texas. This is no ordinary charity run; it’s a test of endurance, resilience, and storytelling. Matt is traversing Texas, mile by mile, raising awareness (and funds) for veteran mental health, adaptive sports, and community efforts like ValorFit.

Troy and I discussed how Equip Products could integrate support—whether through gear, promotion, or event collaborations. Because when someone’s pushing their body across state lines, every backing tool matters.
